Føllingstua Camping – Scenic lakeside accommodation by Lake Snåsavatnet

Føllingstua Camping enjoys a picturesque location at the southern end of Lake Snåsavatnet, just 200 metres from the E6 and 13 km north of Steinkjer. Here you can enjoy a peaceful base close to nature, with a wide range of accommodation options and excellent facilities.

Accommodation

Føllingstua offers several types of accommodation suitable for families, couples, and travellers on the go.

Cabins
A total of 13 cabins open year‑round:

  • 7 high‑standard cabins
    (with either 1 bedroom + loft or 2 bedrooms), including bed linen and towels.
    Fully equipped kitchen, shower/WC and TV.

  • 6 simpler cabins
    Equipped with basic cooking facilities for a budget‑friendly and practical stay.

Rooms
The campsite offers 3 double rooms:

  • One room with private WC and fridge
  • Two rooms with a small kitchenette and washbasin
    (shared bathroom/WC)

Camping and tents

  • 70 pitches for motorhomes and caravans – with electricity
  • Tent pitches with and without electricity, including beautiful spots right by the water
  • Free Wi‑Fi available throughout the campsite

Kiosk / Bar

The campsite offers a selection of ice cream, soft drinks and other kiosk items, and you can also buy coffee. Føllingstua also provides bar service – perfect for rounding off the day in a pleasant atmosphere.

Experience Lake Snåsavatnet – fishing and boating

Lake Snåsavatnet is the largest and most important fishing lake in Nord‑Trøndelag, offering excellent conditions for trout, char and burbot.

Føllingstua offer sale of fishing permits

Typical catches range from 0.3 to 1 kg, but fish between 1 and 2 kg are also common. The largest trout ever caught in the lake weighed an impressive 12.5 kg. In the TV lounge you can also see a beautiful 5.5 kg trout, caught just outside the campsite.

For a peaceful and enjoyable experience, bring your own kayak, boat or canoe and explore Norway’s sixth‑largest lake at your own pace.
