HEIM – Egge Museum’s New Arena in Steinkjer Kulturhus

Join us for a presentation of HEIM (HOME) and get an insight into the exhibition and the future of the HEIM project.

Steinkjer and Innherred are rich in archaeological discoveries, with new traces of the past constantly emerging. Previously, you had to travel outside the region to experience these finds. With HEIM, we are changing that by creating a unique space for archaeological storytelling in Steinkjer Kulturhus. In the city’s new cultural hub, historical artefacts will finally come home, meeting both residents and visitors of Steinkjer today.

A heim (home) is something you help create. Egge Museum invites everyone to be part of HEIM—get to know the project, explore the questions we will be unearthing together, and be inspired to share your own stories!

MAIN EXHIBITION – "Landscapes and People"

How do landscapes and landscape changes shape our lives? And how do we, in turn, influence the landscapes we live in?

In this exhibition, you can experience archaeological artefacts from the Steinkjer area, learn about our local history, and see how the landscape has evolved under human influence from the Bronze Age to today.

HEIM is a collaboration between NTNU University Museum, Steinkjer Municipality, and Museene Arven at Egge Museum. – We hope many will join us on the HEIM journey!
