Lakavassbu – Cabin Rental in Blåfjella–Skjækerfjella National Park
Lakvassbu is a modern timber cabin located by Lake Billingstjern and owned by Værdalsbruket. The cabin sits in the heart of the wilderness within Blåfjella–Skjækerfjella National Park, making it the perfect base for outdoor activities all year round – summer, autumn, winter, and spring. Here you can experience true nature, with excellent opportunities for trout fishing, small game hunting, and scenic summit hikes.
The surrounding area offers several lakes with large trout, and the cabin is an ideal starting point for hunting ptarmigan, forest birds, and hare. For those who enjoy mountain hikes, there are many exciting peaks nearby, including Løysmundhatten in Skjækerfjella and Lakavassklumpen on the Swedish border.
The area is also rich in birdlife, making it a great destination for nature enthusiasts and photographers.
Cabin Details
- Size: 57 m²
- Sleeping capacity: 6 people (duvets and pillows included) + loft with 2 mattresses
- Bring your own bed linen/sleeping bag and toilet paper
- Mobile coverage: Good at Hestryggen, north of the cabin
The cabin is equipped with a wood-burning stove, fireplace, and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Water is sourced from nearby lakes.
Boat Included
When you rent the cabin, a boat on Bellingtjønnin is included. Life jackets for 4 adults are available in the boathouse (please bring child-sized vests).
Directions
Drive along Fv 757 / 160 to Vera (approx. 1 hour from Verdal town centre). The trail to Lakvassbu starts at Storlunet or Vera Community Centre, located right by Fv 160. This is also one of the main gateways to Blåfjella–Skjækerfjella National Park.
