How to travel to Innherred?
Innherred is right in the middle of Norway, just 80 km north of Trondheim. You can get here by car, train, bus or plane. Trondheim Airport Værnes is located 50 kilometres south of Levanger.

By car
Innherred comprises the municipalities of Levanger, Verdal, Inderøy, Steinkjer and Snåsa, around 90 km north of Trondheim along the E6 motorway. The E6 runs straight through Steinkjer while it loops around Verdal, Levanger and Snåsa town centres. In Inderøy, it goes past the village of Røra.

Saturday 30 August, a major landslide occurred near Nesvatnet at Ronglan in Levanger.
Both the E6 and the railway are closed until further notice.
On Saturday 8 November at 14:00, a new temporary road past the landslide site was opened.

Via Fosen
If you are coming from the west via Fosen , you can choose the Fv755, which takes you via Leksvik to Mosvik in Inderøy municipality (from 1 January 2012) and then over the Skarnsund bridge. From Rissa you can follow Fv720 via Follafoss and Malm onto Fv17 Kystriksveien just north of Steinkjer.
Via Kystriksveien
If you’re travelling from the north, you can reach Innherred by driving Kystriksveien (the caostal road FV17), which is the journey from Bodø via the Helgeland coast and the Namdal coast to Steinkjer. The nearest town from there is Namsos.
From Sverige
From Sweden you can drive via Østersund and Åre, along Fv72 until you reach the junction with E6 in Verdal – This road is also part of St. Olavsleden.

The Nordlandsbanen train service between Trondheim and Bodø stops at Levanger, Verdal, Steinkjer and Snåsa. The regioal train service between Steinkjer and Trondheim stops at most stations in Innherred. The train services in Innherred are operated by sj.no/

By air plane
The closest airport is Trondheim lufthavn Værnes, 50 kilometer south of Levanger.
